usage:- The flight attendants had argued that the move to was demeaning as they were asked to be grounded because they were over-weight


lax :
Lacking in rigor or strictness
Lacking in strength or firmness or resilience

usage :-
No airline can afford to remain lax in any department whatsoever, be it the personality of the crew members of their physical fitness.


perseverance:
Persistent determination
doggedness

usage:
"If by perseverance, the snail could reach the Ark, why can't these worthy people stand on and fight for their rights "

stutter
stammer
usage:-
raghul stutters when he speaks in front of the gathering or in a meeting.

thwart
prevent or hinder the efforts or plans
usage:- Fear can cloud your judgement and thwart your plans.
